This is quite intriguing. I recall a time when the FED began to increase interest rates, causing the bond prices to decline. At that point, some people contended that even though the market value of financial companies' bond holdings decreased, the companies themselves wouldn't suffer any consequences since they could still receive the full par value by holding onto the bonds until they matured. Well that aged like milk.
